About the artist
Angela Fairbank, is a contemporary freelance artist in Wales, UK. Her background includes qualification in; Ma in fine art 2019 at University Trinity Saint David, First Class Honours BA in fashion/textiles design in 2011 at Somerset College of Art and Design and a distinction Diploma in art and design 2008 at Glamorgan Centre for Arts and Design.
She has recently released her first collection of original abstract art.
Her spontaneous and intuitive style of working is expressed in this abstract collection. Using colour and composition, her abstract work focuses on capturing balance between the controlled and uncontrolled.
Th art making process is always important. The feeling of being immersed in the flow state of creating combined with the physicality of hands engaging with materials, paint and surface motivates her intuitive, haptic approach to working. Along with this, nature and her environment continuously influence and inspire her work. She finds abstract art allows her the freedom to experiment with and express these elements all in one entity.
Angela is passionate about the unique and integral impact an artwork can have within a space and ourselves. She believes that art can be a fulfilling experience within ourself and in the spaces we spend time.
